We won't tell you a door needs full replacement when a spring and a roller set will get another several years out of it. If the repair costs more than roughly half of what a new door runs, we'll say so and let you decide, but we're not going to sell a $2,000 door to fix a $200 problem.
We also won't promise same-day service on parts we don't carry on the truck. Builder-grade doors from the 1979-2013 stock around here mostly use standard sizes we keep stocked, but if you've got a custom width or an imported opener, that part has to be ordered, and we'll tell you that up front instead of guessing at a timeline.
We don't do new home construction installs as a standalone service, and we won't climb on a roof or touch anything beyond the garage door and its hardware. If your issue turns out to be a structural problem with the header or framing around the opening, that's outside what we handle, and we'll say that rather than taking the job anyway.
Finally, we won't quote a price over the phone for anything beyond a basic spring swap, because without seeing the track, the drums, and the cable condition in person, a phone estimate is a guess, and guesses turn into arguments on the invoice.
